710 Dab Day Recap

We rolled into Ybor City, parked on the roof, and watched Tampa throw its loudest cannabis party of the year. Rain delay, a $100 zip of Pure Michigan live resin, a Flowery AC lounge that saved the night, and prize wheels everywhere.

Let's be honest: if you end up parking on the roof before the show even starts, the night is already doing something.

We pulled into Ybor for 710 Dab Day, circled the garage, kept going up, and eventually landed on the roof like, "alright, so it's packed-packed." From up there you could see the whole thing below us: tents, food trucks, stage setup, people already moving around in little clusters, and Tampa looking like it was about to either party or storm. Possibly both. Very on brand.

The rooftop view. Tents, food trucks, stage, crowd — packed already, and the night was just getting started.

And then Florida did Florida stuff. A little rain rolled through, the line slowed, and people waited it out. Nobody loved the pause, but the vibe stayed good. Cannabis crowds are funny like that. Give people enough patience, enough smoke in the air, and enough people-watching, and even a rain delay becomes part of the bit.

Did we maybe merge into the line instead of going all the way to the back? I plead the fifth. My girlfriend did not approve. She looked at me like I had committed a federal line crime. Honestly, fair.

01 This is why outdoor festivals hit different

Indoor convention-center weed events can be useful. Clean bathrooms, cold AC, easy booths, all that. But they can also feel like LinkedIn with dab mats.

This was not that. This had heat. Rain. Brick streets. Food trucks. People sweating through outfits they definitely picked before checking the weather. You could hear music bleeding through the whole space, smell flower before you found the booth, and spot someone you meant to text two hours ago walking past with a bag full of merch.

Was it air-conditioned comfort the whole time? No. Was it a good time anyway? Absolutely. The outdoor mess is part of why it sticks.

Food trucks and tents everywhere. The kind of setup where you tell yourself you're "just walking around" and then somehow lose 45 minutes.

02 The music wasn't a background, it was a pulse

The lineup gave the night a heartbeat. SMOAKLAND, Late Night Radio, Sumthin Sumthin, ZOSKA, Badda Skat, and the rest of the bill weren't background noise. Once the music started, people were actually watching. Heads were turned toward the stage. Phones came out. The crowd tightened up.

That is the part a plain event listing never captures. The stage was outside, the light kept changing, and once the rain cleared the crowd locked in. When the bass finally hit, the whole place opened up and it felt like the night everybody came for.

Best Booth

Yozos Garden

The loud table. If your nose finds it before your eyes do, that counts.

Unexpected MVP

The Flowery AC Lounge

Not sexy. Extremely necessary. Tampa heat will humble the strongest among us.

Reader Argument

Every festival needs 3 grilled cheese trucks

This is not a suggestion. This is infrastructure.

03 The vendor rows had that outdoor market feel

The booth crawl was its own thing. White tents, branded tables, giveaways, people leaning in to talk over the music, bags getting heavier with shirts and little freebies. AYR had shirts and dab mats. Sunshine Cannabis had hats I actually liked. Trulieve surprised me too, and I get why some folks don't love them, but the people working their booth were solid. We got to talk with Sunshine Cannabis growers, and some Alien Labs and Connected people were around too.

That is the fun part of showing up in person. Menus and promo emails flatten everybody into logos. At an event, you get the human version. Growers talking flower. Brand people joking around. Patients asking very specific questions because Florida patients are secretly the most intense product nerds on earth.

One of the vendor tables we walked through. Concentrates, drinks, and small packaged goods for days.

Between the licensed Florida dispensaries and the event-only hemp/THCA brands, you had two parallel markets running. Some of the loudest tables were ones you won't find on a dispensary menu, and that alone is the story of where 710 culture is right now.

04 Yozos was the booth people remembered

One attendee-noted booth, Yozos (@yozosgarden), stuck with us because the table had that loud, terp-heavy flower smell you notice before you even fully stop walking.

05 Treehouse Concentrates had the loudest deal story

Treehouse Concentrates was the booth people kept circling back to. Black canopy, big white banner, crowd packed in at the table. The kind of setup where somebody in your group goes, "wait, what was that deal again?"

Treehouse Concentrates · Pure Michigan Live Resin

One zip, one hundred dollars flat. Not "pretty good for the price" fire, actually good. Compared with what Florida medical patients usually pay for concentrates, that kind of number makes you stop and do the math twice.

06 The Flowery lounge was the reset button

Most of the event was outside. The Flowery lounge was one of the places where you could get inside and beat the heat.

Think inside bar, chill DJ room, air-conditioned reset zone. Not the main event — just a clutch indoor pocket where you could cool off for a minute, catch a more laid-back room, and then head right back out into the fun.

07 The little details made it feel like a real scene

The colorful sunburst installation was one of the most memorable little details of the night. Bright, a little goofy, very festival. People posed around it, used it as a meet-up spot, and kept walking past it all evening.

Bright, goofy, and hard to miss — the sunburst was pure festival energy.

And half the booths had a prize wheel going. Spin it, win a sticker, a dab mat, a hat, a fan — whatever they were giving away that hour. Classic festival bait, and it worked. People were lined up for it.

By night, the whole outdoor footprint lit up. Tents, stage glow, people everywhere.

We spend most of our time helping Florida patients find the best deals. But every once in a while it's nice to remember that cannabis isn't just discounts and promo codes, it's the Florida cannabis community.

We'll see you at the next one.

Stoner Rating

Would we go again?

Easy yes. This is the kind of Florida cannabis weirdness we want more of.

Pro Tip

Bring water. Wear real shoes.

Expect Florida to try and melt you. And if your line-cutting strategy gets judged by your girlfriend, that's on you.

Hot Take

710 is a vibe, not a date

It's the day, sure. But it's also the people, the heat, the prize wheels, the music, and the 11pm "should we stay for one more set?"
